1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

Personal information you disclose to us

In Short: Our apps do not require or support user accounts. We do not collect personal information such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, or passwords through our apps.

The only personal information you actively provide to us is what you choose to include if you contact us directly (for example, by emailing privacy@theappycompanyllc.com). We do not host sign-up forms, profiles, or account features within the app.

Sensitive Information. We do not process sensitive information.

In-App Purchases. Our apps may offer one-time, non-consumable in-app purchases (for example, "Remove Ads"). Purchase transactions are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), and we do not directly collect or store payment card information. To validate receipts and keep your purchased entitlement in sync across reinstalls and across devices tied to the same App Store or Google Play account, we use RevenueCat as our third-party purchase management provider. When you open the app or make a purchase, RevenueCat may receive your App Store or Google Play transaction receipt, a randomly generated anonymous device identifier that RevenueCat creates and stores on your device (the "RevenueCat Anonymous ID"), your device model and operating system version, your app version, your locale, and the IP address used at the time of the receipt exchange. RevenueCat uses this information solely to validate receipts, manage entitlement state, prevent fraud, and provide aggregate service analytics to us. RevenueCat does not combine this data with data from other apps for advertising purposes and does not sell it. We also store a local cached flag on your device indicating whether you currently own a paid entitlement so that paid features work offline.

Locally stored data. Game progress, puzzle state, best times, hint credit balance, app settings, and cached content are stored locally on your device. This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us. You can erase it by deleting the app.

Application Data. If you use our application, we also may collect the following information:

Mobile Device Data. We automatically collect device information (such as your mobile device ID, model, and manufacturer), operating system, version information and system configuration information, device and application identification numbers, hardware model, Internet service provider and/or mobile carrier, and Internet Protocol (IP) address (or proxy server). We may also collect information about the phone network associated with your mobile device, your mobile device's operating system or platform, the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device's unique device ID, and information about the features of our application you accessed.

Push Notifications. Some of our apps or future versions may request permission to send you push notifications regarding certain features of the application. If push notifications are supported, the app will ask for your permission before sending them. You may opt out at any time by turning off notifications in your device's settings.

This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our application, for troubleshooting, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

Information automatically collected

In Short: Some information — such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or browser and device characteristics — is collected automatically when you visit our Services.

We automatically collect certain information when you use the Services. This information does not directly reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, country, information about how and when you use our Services, and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services, and for analytics, advertising, and attribution purposes.

The information we collect includes:

Log and Usage Data. Log and usage data is service-related, diagnostic, usage, and performance information automatically collected when you use the Services. This may include your IP address, device information, and information about your activity in the app (such as puzzle starts, completions, skips, resets, hint usage, screen/tab navigation events, ad views, ad failures, and share actions), along with device event information such as system activity and error reports.

Device Data. We collect device data such as information about the mobile device you use to access the Services. This device data may include your IP address (or proxy server), device advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android), device and application identification numbers, hardware model, Internet service provider and/or mobile carrier, operating system, screen resolution, and system configuration information.

Coarse Location Data. The app itself does not request location permission or collect precise (GPS) location. However, our third-party advertising and attribution partners may derive approximate (city- or region-level) location from your IP address for ad delivery, fraud prevention, and campaign measurement.

App Tracking Transparency (iOS). On iOS, we use Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. You will be shown a system prompt asking permission to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. If you grant permission, our advertising partners may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to deliver personalized ads and measure attribution. If you decline, the app continues to function normally; ads will be shown on a non-personalized / contextual basis.

Ad Consent (Google UMP). On first launch (and when required by applicable law, such as the GDPR in the EU/EEA/UK), the app displays a consent form managed through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) that covers our advertising mediation partners. Your choices in this form affect what data our ad partners may collect and how ads are personalized.

SKAdNetwork. On iOS, the app participates in Apple's SKAdNetwork, a privacy-preserving framework that lets advertising networks measure ad campaign performance without sharing user-level identifiers. Our Info.plist lists the SKAdNetwork identifiers of our advertising and mediation partners.

Google API

Our use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?

In Short: We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law. We may also process your information for other purposes with your consent.

We process your personal information for a variety of reasons, depending on how you interact with our Services, including:

To deliver and facilitate delivery of services to the user. We may process your information to provide you with the requested service.

To respond to user inquiries/offer support to users. We may process your information to respond to your inquiries and solve any potential issues you might have with the requested service.

To request feedback. We may process your information when necessary to request feedback and to contact you about your use of our Services.

To deliver targeted advertising to you. We may process your information to develop and display personalized content and advertising tailored to your interests, location, and more.

To evaluate and improve our Services, products, marketing, and your experience. We may process your information when we believe it is necessary to identify usage trends, determine the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns, and to evaluate and improve our Services, products, marketing, and your experience.

To identify usage trends. We may process information about how you use our Services to better understand how they are being used so we can improve them.

To determine the effectiveness of our marketing and promotional campaigns. We may process your information to better understand how to provide marketing and promotional campaigns that are most relevant to you.

To process and deliver in-app purchases. We process transaction receipts received from Apple or Google, together with purchase and entitlement metadata exchanged with our purchase management provider (RevenueCat), to validate purchases, grant you the features you paid for (such as ad removal and cosmetic themes), and keep those entitlements in sync across reinstalls and eligible devices.

3. WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

In Short: We may share information in specific situations described in this section and/or with the following third parties.

Vendors, Consultants, and Other Third-Party Service Providers. We may share your data with third-party vendors, service providers, contractors, or agents ("third parties") who perform services for us or on our behalf and require access to such information to do that work. We have contracts in place with our third parties, which are designed to help safeguard your personal information. This means that they cannot do anything with your personal information unless we have instructed them to do it. They will also not share your personal information with any organization apart from us. They also commit to protect the data they hold on our behalf and to retain it for the period we instruct.

The third parties we may share personal information with are as follows:

Advertising, Direct Marketing, and Lead Generation

AdMob, Meta Audience Network, and Unity Ads. AdMob (Google) serves interstitial and rewarded video ads in the app and acts as our mediation layer. Meta Audience Network and Unity Ads participate as mediation partners through AdMob. These partners may collect your device advertising identifier (IDFA/GAID), IP address and coarse (IP-derived) location, device information (make, model, OS, carrier, connection type, screen size), ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, revenue), app usage patterns and session data, probabilistic identifiers (device fingerprinting for attribution), in-app purchase history (for ad optimization), battery level and available storage (device signals), your privacy choices (ATT status, Limit Ad Tracking), and SDK integration metadata. They use this information to serve, personalize, cap the frequency of, and measure the performance of ads, and to prevent fraud.

Google's Real-Time Advertising Exchange (Authorized Buyers). AdMob also fills ad inventory through Google's real-time advertising exchange. When an ad request is made, Google may forward a bid request to demand-side platforms and other buyers participating in its Authorized Buyers program so they can decide whether to bid on serving an ad. Each bid request may include the same categories of signals described above — most commonly your device advertising identifier (IDFA/GAID), or no identifier where you have opted out, your IP address and IP-derived coarse location, the app's bundle/package identifier, basic device and OS information, and your IAB TCF and GPP consent choices. Google administers the Authorized Buyers program and contracts directly with these buyers under Google's published program policies. Whether your bid-request data is shared with these buyers, and what data fields are included, is gated by your consent choices in the in-app Google UMP form (where applicable under laws such as the GDPR), your iOS App Tracking Transparency selection, and your Android limit-ad-tracking / personalized-ads setting. See https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads for more information about how Google uses information for advertising and how the Authorized Buyers program works.

Attribution

AppsFlyer. Some of our apps or versions may integrate AppsFlyer as a mobile measurement partner. For apps or versions where AppsFlyer is enabled, AppsFlyer may collect your device advertising identifier (IDFA/GAID), IP address and geolocation, device information (hardware, OS, carrier, language, timezone), app install/update/uninstall events, configured in-app events (such as conversions), referrer and deep-link data, Wi-Fi SSID (Android, where permitted), probabilistic device-matching data, a persistent AppsFlyer device ID, push notification tokens (if configured), and revenue/LTV data. AppsFlyer uses this information to attribute app installs and events to the marketing campaigns that drove them and to measure campaign effectiveness.

Functionality and Infrastructure Optimization

Cloud Firestore. We use Firestore in a read-only fashion to deliver bundled puzzle content top-ups to your device when your local cache is running low. We do not write user data to Firestore. Google may see your IP address when your device fetches content.

Firebase Remote Config. We use Firebase Remote Config to deliver runtime configuration (for example, minimum supported app version and feature toggles). Your device's Firebase app instance ID and IP address are visible to Google during a config fetch.

Purchase Management

RevenueCat. For apps that offer in-app purchases, we use RevenueCat as our purchase management provider to validate Apple or Google transaction receipts and to keep your entitlement state in sync across reinstalls and devices. RevenueCat may collect your App Store or Google Play transaction receipt, a randomly generated anonymous device identifier that it creates and stores locally on your device (on iOS, also synced through Apple's iCloud Keychain where available), your device model and operating system version, your app version, your locale, and the IP address used at the time of the receipt exchange. RevenueCat uses this information to validate receipts, provision entitlements, prevent fraud, and provide aggregate service analytics to us. RevenueCat does not cross-app-link this data or use it for advertising.

Mobile Analytics

Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase). We use Firebase Analytics to understand in-app behavior (for example, puzzle starts, completions, skips, resets, hint usage, ad views, ad failures, ad debt events, screen/tab navigation, and share actions). Firebase Analytics may collect an anonymous per-install app instance ID, device model, OS version, screen resolution, app version, language, country, session data, and the custom events described above. Firebase Analytics does not collect the iOS IDFA unless App Tracking Transparency consent is granted.

App Performance Monitoring

Crashlytics and Firebase Crash Reporting. If enabled in a future update, these tools will collect diagnostic information (such as crash stack traces, device model, OS version, and app state at the time of a crash) to help us diagnose and fix bugs.

App Testing

Firebase Remote Config and TestFlight. Firebase Remote Config may be used to gate in-development features. TestFlight (Apple) may be used to distribute pre-release builds to invited testers; TestFlight's data handling is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

We also may need to share your personal information in the following situations:

Business Transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.

Rewarded Advertising. Our apps may display rewarded video advertisements that let you receive in-app virtual items (such as hint credits or the ability to skip a puzzle) in exchange for watching an advertisement. These ads are served by our advertising partners (AdMob, Meta Audience Network, Unity Ads) and may be selected based on certain data, such as your coarse geographic area or device characteristics. A non-identifying identifier may be shared with the ad provider to prevent fraud and to properly credit the relevant reward to your device.

Third-Party Partner Privacy Policies

The following third-party partners may collect data through their own SDKs embedded in our apps, as described above. Each partner's privacy policy describes their data practices in detail and explains how to exercise your rights directly with them.

4. WHAT IS OUR STANCE ON THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES?

In Short: We are not responsible for the safety of any information that you share with third parties that we may link to or who advertise on our Services, but are not affiliated with, our Services.

The Services may link to third-party websites, online services, or mobile applications and/or contain advertisements from third parties that are not affiliated with us and which may link to other websites, services, or applications. Accordingly, we do not make any guarantee regarding any such third parties, and we will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by the use of such third-party websites, services, or applications. The inclusion of a link towards a third-party website, service, or application does not imply an endorsement by us. We cannot guarantee the safety and privacy of data you provide to any third-party websites. Any data collected by third parties is not covered by this Privacy Notice. We are not responsible for the content or privacy and security practices and policies of any third parties, including other websites, services, or applications that may be linked to or from the Services. You should review the policies of such third parties and contact them directly to respond to your questions.

5. DO WE USE MOBILE TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES?

In Short: We and our third-party partners may use mobile device identifiers, software development kits (SDKs), and similar in-app tracking technologies to deliver, measure, and personalize the Services and advertising.

Our apps are mobile applications. The primary tracking technologies we and our partners use are mobile device identifiers and SDKs rather than traditional browser cookies. However, third-party advertising SDKs embedded in our apps may use cookies or similar local storage mechanisms within their own ad-rendering components. We and our third-party partners may use the following tracking technologies:

Device advertising identifiers. iOS devices have an Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA); Android devices have a Google Advertising ID (GAID). Our advertising and mediation partners (AdMob, Meta Audience Network, Unity Ads) and our attribution partner (AppsFlyer) may use these identifiers to personalize advertising, cap ad frequency, measure campaign performance, and prevent fraud.

Firebase app instance ID. Firebase Analytics and Firebase Remote Config assign each app install a non-personal, anonymous identifier that resets when you uninstall and reinstall the app.

RevenueCat Anonymous ID. For apps that offer in-app purchases, RevenueCat generates a randomly selected, anonymous identifier the first time the app initializes its purchase management SDK, and stores it on your device. On iOS, this identifier may be preserved across reinstalls via Apple's iCloud Keychain so that entitlements purchased on one device continue to work on another device signed in to the same Apple ID. This identifier is not associated with any personally identifying information we hold; it exists solely to validate receipts and manage entitlement state.

SDK-based event logging. Our third-party SDKs collect events and device signals directly within the app as described in Section 3.

SKAdNetwork (iOS). The app participates in Apple's SKAdNetwork framework, which provides privacy-preserving install and conversion attribution without exposing user-level identifiers.

Probabilistic / fingerprinting signals. Some of our advertising and attribution partners may combine non-identifying device and network signals (such as device model, OS version, IP address, and time of interaction) to probabilistically match ad interactions to app installs.

How to control in-app tracking.

On iOS, you control tracking via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, which appears before personalized ads are first shown, and at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking (you can also disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track"). You can additionally reset or limit your IDFA in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in Settings → Google → Ads (the exact path varies by device and OS version).

On first launch in jurisdictions that require it (for example, the EU/EEA/UK under GDPR), the app also shows a Google UMP consent form that lets you accept or refuse personalized advertising from our mediation partners. You can revisit this choice from the Settings screen in the app.

To the extent these mobile tracking technologies are deemed to be a "sale"/"sharing" (which includes targeted advertising, as defined under the applicable laws) under applicable US state laws, you can opt out by using the ATT / Android ad settings controls above or by submitting a request as described below under section "DO UNITED STATES RESIDENTS HAVE SPECIFIC PRIVACY RIGHTS?"

6. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?

In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice unless otherwise required by law.

We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements).

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

7. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?

In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.

We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.

8. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?

In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 13 years of age.

We do not knowingly collect, solicit data from, or market to children under 13 years of age, nor do we knowingly sell such personal information. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 13 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent's use of the Services. If we learn that personal information from users less than 13 years of age has been collected, we will take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. If you become aware of any data we may have collected from children under age 13, please contact us at privacy@theappycompanyllc.com.

9. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?

In Short: Depending on your country, province, or state of residence, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to withdraw consent for tracking and to delete locally stored data.

Withdrawing your consent: If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, which may be express and/or implied consent depending on the applicable law, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us by using the contact details provided in the section "HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE?" below.

However, please note that this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal nor, when applicable law allows, will it affect the processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.

Controlling advertising and tracking: On iOS you can change your tracking choice at any time via Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android you can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads via Settings → Google → Ads. Where applicable (for example, under the GDPR), you can also change your advertising consent from the Google UMP consent form, which can be revisited from the in-app Settings screen. Declining tracking does not prevent you from using the app. For partner-specific opt-outs and data request tools (Google, Meta, Unity, AppsFlyer, RevenueCat), see Section 14.

Deleting locally stored data: Because the app stores your progress and settings on your device (not on our servers), you can permanently erase this data by deleting the app from your device.

If you have questions or comments about your privacy rights, you may email us at privacy@theappycompanyllc.com.

10. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice.

California law requires us to let you know how we respond to web browser DNT signals. Because there currently is not an industry or legal standard for recognizing or honoring DNT signals, we do not respond to them at this time.

11. DO UNITED STATES RESIDENTS HAVE SPECIFIC PRIVACY RIGHTS?

In Short: If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, or Virginia, you may have the right to request access to and receive details about the personal information we maintain about you and how we have processed it, correct inaccuracies, get a copy of, or delete your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw your consent to our processing of your personal information. These rights may be limited in some circumstances by applicable law. More information is provided below.

You can opt out from the selling of your personal information, targeted advertising, or profiling on iOS by declining (or later revoking) the App Tracking Transparency prompt at Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and on Android by opting out of personalized ads or resetting your advertising ID at Settings → Google → Ads. Where applicable, you can also adjust your advertising consent from the Google UMP consent form, accessible from the in-app Settings screen.

Under certain US state data protection laws, you can designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We may deny a request from an authorized agent that does not submit proof that they have been validly authorized to act on your behalf in accordance with applicable laws.

Request Verification

Upon receiving your request, we will need to verify your identity to determine you are the same person about whom we have the information in our system. We will only use personal information provided in your request to verify your identity or authority to make the request. However, if we cannot verify your identity from the information already maintained by us, we may request that you provide additional information for the purposes of verifying your identity and for security or fraud-prevention purposes.

If you submit the request through an authorized agent, we may need to collect additional information to verify your identity before processing your request and the agent will need to provide a written and signed permission from you to submit such request on your behalf.

Appeals

Under certain US state data protection laws, if we decline to take action regarding your request, you may appeal our decision by emailing us at privacy@theappycompanyllc.com. We will inform you in writing of any action taken or not taken in response to the appeal, including a written explanation of the reasons for the decisions. If your appeal is denied, you may submit a complaint to your state attorney general.
